A lot of programs dissapeared from my desktop including the picture that i had. i have no viruses.?

i have neither viruses, nor system problems, i think. what should i do?

This question is hard to answer without knowing exactly what was being done on the computer before this happened. Also what OS are you running.

if you have windows XP there is a device that deletes unused desktop files and shortcuts. and if that is what happened they should of been put in a file or in the recycle bin. but i can not tell you where the file might be because i have vista and i do not remember how i fixed it when the same thing happened to me. goodluck. and for the desktop picture, if you moved or deleted the file where the picture was located it will no longer be able to show up on your desktop.
someone must have accidently deleted it or MAYBE try using

NOD32 antivirus....
