If you format yes, if you repair windows no. (some people don't know the difference)

And like said above, backup your data 1st.

yes, but make sure you keep backup of important files
if you format the drive everything is wiped clean....i used to do that all the time as a quick fix. just make sure you got all your drivers in order and program install discs and serial #'s
