I got some viruses from AIM and whatnot and i was wondering how I can go about cleaning my computer up for free. Like a program I can download that will actually let me CLEAN my computer. Not just scan it and make me pay money. Thanks.

i use Avast Home version. i found it at Download.com
all you have to do is register the trial version, for free, and you'll be able to keep it forever.
with Avast, it offers you a "boot time scan/delete" process where Avast starts running while your computer is starting up before any other programs(including viruses) have the opportunity to start running themselves. when Avast finds one of the viruses, trojans, phishers, etc. if asks you if you want to delete, quarantine, or ignore the file.
