Limewire is good to use if you know how to use it well. All the viruses are bsacially in small file sizes of the range 100kb-500kb maybe a little higher. If you use common sense on LW then you should be fine. Since most "music" files are around a few MBs, stick with that file size. Just watch watch for the sizes and you should be fine. Oh, and the file types!

Limewire is pretty good, but it slows down my pc too much. I use musicmassive.com - I can listen to music on the website and download songs if I want to.
if you use linux online you wont have any problems
nothing wrong with limewire

you just have to be careful with what you download

some of the files to watch out for (do NOT download) are

01 Track 1 ... right on up to... 09 Track 9

totally hip track

eighties classic

and you will notice if you move your mouse over the song / file name - if it's a regular file - a window will pop up with a listing of the file name - bitrate - time (how long the song is) - genre - track listing etc

if it isn't a good file - it will usually list only the file name and bitrate 768

keep good practice by doing a virus scan on whatever you download

do not play / open whatever you download until you've run it through a virus scan

keep your anti virus updated on a regular basis
